Mia Shindle was born and raised in Massachusetts where she received her formal dance training in the Boston area under the direction of Diane Kelley. She was accepted into the prestigious School of Dance at the University of Arizona in 2016 with both academic and dance scholarships. While there, she performed a plethora of works by esteemed faculty members Autumn Eckman, Amy Ernst, Tammy Dyke-Compton, James Clouser, and Elizabeth George-Fesch. In addition she had the opportunity to perform the Master Work “Megalopolis” from Keigwin + Company. In 2019, she received her BFA graduating Summa Cum Laude. In addition to her training at the university, Mia studied with professional companies such as Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Paul Taylor Dance Company, The Radio City Rockettes, and MG + Artists. Since graduation, Mia has been accepted as a guest artist to dance festivals such as DM Artfest in Salt Lake City, Utah and Breaking Ground Dance Festival in Phoenix, Arizona.
In her professional career, Mia has been a Company Artist for Hawkinsdance Contemporary Dance in Tucson, Arizona (under Artistic Director Shelly Hawkins) and Nova Linea Contemporary Dance (under Artistic Director Jared Baker) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Mia is currently a freelance based artist in New York City and is thrilled to be back on the East Coast.
